Winslow, Arizona, is a small town along the historic Route 66, famously mentioned in the Eagles’ song "Take It Easy".  This shout-out draws visitors to the “Standin’ on the Corner” park in an almost constant flow. Once a bustling railroad town, Winslow is now a quiet destination with scenic views and nearby natural attractions like the Meteor Crater.

Mary Colter's Legacy

Mary Colter was an American architect and designer renowned for her work with the Fred Harvey Company and the Santa Fe Railroad. She designed several iconic structures in the American Southwest, all named the "Harvey Houses." Each house came with its own fictional story about its design and the people who lived there.  Colter's final work was in Winslow:  La Posada Hotel.

Part of Mary Colter's legacy was saved by Allan Affeldt and Tina Mion in the 90s with a dream of preserving history. Hear their story below.
